Executive Vice President, Legal, Strategy and Corporate Secretary
Vinay is the Executive Vice President, Legal, Strategy and Corporate Secretary at Alectra Inc. and a member of the Executive Committee. Reporting to the President and CEO, Vinay is responsible for Legal Services and is Corporate Secretary to the Board of Alectra Inc. and its subsidiaries. Vinay is also responsible for overseeing and directing Strategy, Sustainability and Enterprise Risk Management.
He joined PowerStream in 2010 and before the formation of Alectra, Vinay served as General Counsel for PowerStream. Previously, Vinay was Legal Counsel at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and an Associate in the Business Advisory Group of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.
Vinay has served on the Board of Directors of various organizations including The Public Accountants Council for the Province of Ontario (Appointed by the Attorney General of Ontario) where he was also Chair of the Unauthorized Practices Committee; Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs; Laidlaw Foundation; East Indian Professional Residents of Canada; Skills for Change; and the International Red Cross (York Region).
Vinay obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo.
