Work will require power outage on October 16
Beeton, ON, - Alectra is advising residents in Beeton of a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, October 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The planned power outage is required for Alectra Utilities crews to safely install and replace aging poles and transfer lines to increase reliability of power in Beeton.
This work will affect 1,613 residential and 139 commercial customers between 8:00am and 4:00pm on Sunday October 16, 2022.
In 2022, Alectra allocated a total of $306M for capital improvements across its service territory to renew aging equipment and install new infrastructure to handle growing demand. Alectra is investing in its Beeton community to support growth and provide safe and reliable service to customers.
Alectra advises affected customers to prepare in advance for the planned outage as all services in the town will be without power (this includes stores, restaurants, churches, etc).
These safety tips will help you and your family during an outage:
- Make sure your appliances, such as the stove, are in the off position.
- Make sure your cellphones and devices are fully charged.
- Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible.
- The Government of Canada has food safety information here.
We understand how difficult it is to be without power and we thank customers in advance for their patience while we perform this critical work to improve future reliability.
