If you're in the market for an electric vehicle (EV), explore the various purchase incentives and rebates that could enhance your buying experience.

Incentives are subject to change, so please refer to the Government of Canada links on this page for the most current information about EV incentives. Stay tuned as we regularly update this section to include additional incentives as they become accessible*.

For Individual Buyers:

Federal Incentives: You can qualify for up to $5,000 towards the purchase of a fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The incentive will be applied at the point-of-sale by the dealership. It will appear directly on the bill of sale or lease agreement of eligible zero emission vehicles on, or after, the eligibility date. 

Eligibility: Battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and longer-range plug-in hybrid vehicles are eligible for up to $5,000, but shorter-range vehicles with range under 50 km (such as some plug-in hybrids) are eligible for up to $2,500 in incentives.

Company Incentives: Check with the Human Resources team at your place of employment. Some employers offer EV benefits such as workplace charging or preferred pricing at automotive dealerships that offer electric vehicles.

For Businesses:

Federal Incentives: The iMHZEV (Medium and Heavy Duty Electric Vehicle) Purchase Program offers point-of-sale incentives for Canadian organizations and businesses who buy or lease an eligible medium and heavy duty zero emission vehicles (MHZEV). Incentives range from $10,000 for a Class 2B vehicle to as high as $200,000 for a Class 7/8 Zero-Emission Vehicle.
